SWIR CameraShortwave infrared light (SWIR) is usually defined as light with a wavelength between 0.9 and 1.7 μm, occasionally also as the spectrum between 0.7 and 2.5 μm. As silicon sensors have an upper detection limit of around 1.0 μm, specific optical and electronic components that can process the SWIR spectrum are required for SWIR imaging. Indium gallium arsenide sensors (InGaAs sensors), which cover the typical SWIR spectrum but also recognise wavelengths from 550 nm to 2.5 μm, are primarily used for SWIR imaging.
